Associate Professor Walmsley's areas of expertise include the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (including Chromoendoscopy for bowel cancer screening), Barrett's oesophagus (including Radio Frequency Ablation therapy, and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection) and Endoscopic UltraSound (EUS).
At Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) Waitemata he is involved in EUS, IBD, Nutritional Failure and Endoscopy Training Lead.
He is Chair of the Endoscopy Governance Group for New Zealand (EGGNZ).
